Flagstaff to Snowbowl

Flagstaff to Snowbowl

Arizona Snowbowl is the ski area located outside of Flagstaff.  All year round, the Arizona Snowbowl is home to many outdoor activities.  Of course, in the winter, they are known for the best skiing in Northern Arizona.  In the summer, cooler temperatures are the main attraction.  Hiking and the gondola ride are perfect for exploring the area on a hot day.

Directions from Flagstaff to Snowbowl

Snowbowl is located about 15 miles from Downtown Flagstaff.  Take Highway 180 toward the Grand Canyon for about 7 miles until you reach Snowbowl Road.  Turn right and head up the mountain for another 7 miles until you reach the ski area.  Their address is 9300 N. Snow Bowl Road, Flagstaff, Arizona.

How to Get to Snowbowl in the Winter

You can drive directly to the top of the ski area; however, it can be difficult after a big snowstorm.  All wheel drive and four-wheel drive vehicles are the best option.  But if you drive another vehicle, expect to park in the lot at the entrance of the resort off highway 180.  During busy times and snow filled days, Snowbowl runs a shuttle bus up the mountain from the parking lot.  If you want to avoid the traffic, then take the Mountain Express where available from Downtown Flagstaff.

Things to do at Snowbowl in the Summer

In the Summer, you can hike one of the many trails located at the Snowbowl.  Try our favorite hike, the Aspen Nature Trail.  In the fall, the Aspen trees turn beautiful colors, including yellow, gold, red and all the colors in between.  During summer months, the Arizona Gondola ride is perfect for sightseeing and taking pictures.  There are more hikes at the top of the mountain where the scenery is gorgeous.
