Pickin in the Pines

The 18th Annual Pickin in the Pines takes place September 18th through September 20th, 2026, in Flagstaff, Arizona.  Enjoy bluegrass music in the cool pines.  This 3-day event has music, kids’ activities, workshops and fun for the entire family.  There will be a band contest to show the talent of the bluegrass performers. It is a tradition! The Pickin in the Pines is located at the Pepsi Amphitheater at Fort Tuthill County Park.

Markedly, bluegrass is a music genre rooted in American culture.  It has captivated audiences for generations with its melodies and soul-stirring harmonies. Since it was originated in the Appalachians, bluegrass music is characterized by its blend of acoustic instruments, heartfelt lyrics, and high-energy performances.

What sets this genre apart after all?  It is the picking style of the musicians. Most notably the lightning-fast banjo rolls, and guitar runs.
